About

Hey,

I’m just a Southern gal at heart and always will be. I was born in South Georgia and have lived in the South my entire life. I love the fresh air, the bright, clear, blue skies, the fields of farmland–cotton, tobacco, peanuts–the pastures full of black Angus cows, the pecan groves–and I’d like to share these things with you.

Art, in general, has been a passion of mine since I was young.  Drawing, painting, and ceramics were my choice through high school, along with Cross-Stitching, Crocheting–you name it. But writing, other than an occasional poem, didn’t enter my mind until sometime in the mid-1980’s (yes, I’m telling my age). Not stories, that is. I kept a journal.

I started writing novels as an escape from work-related stress. I have no idea what made me think of writing a book. It just came to me, and when it did, the stories started flying at me faster than I could write them down.

My journey thus far has included several workshops, numerous books, and articles read and a few classes were taken. Writing is like many occupations. If you want to be good at what you do, you must constantly study and learn. I’m finding promotion to be one of the hardest parts.

I write Contemporary Romance/Women’s Fiction with a blend of real-life issues. You know, like the occasional murder, a horrible deception. The stories must be interesting, right?

I am both traditionally and self-published. I enjoy the freedom of being able to create my own book covers and other materials or buying what I prefer. Plus, you have more freedom. That’s not to say I won’t consider the traditional way again, though.

I have to admit that writing isn’t all that I do. I still love to pencil draw, especially old barns, and stores, whenever my hands allow. Of course, country things. I also work with graphic design, creating my own covers, banners, etc. and things for others.

I also have a great love for animals, especially dogs. It’s a good thing since we have our own pack. 😉 But, they are all my babies–spoiled, of course.

Please join me on my journey as I create the worlds of Magnolia Grove and Leatherwood Creek. My hope is to carry you into the lives of their residents, make you feel right at home and give you a taste of good ole country living.
